So what did you have lunch today, Jane/John Watanabe?

Ever wonder what J people eat for lunch? Ever wonder if someone else wondered about this? Ever wonder what at least one person would do to answer those questions or at least catalogue a small part of their daily life for almost the last five years?

Well, here's the answer to all your questions and obviously one the reasons why the internet was created.

some Japanese’s person's blog which only consists of a single picture of their daily lunch bento (box lunch)

He (or she) takes a picture of their home made lunch they eat at work (well a few days get skipped everyone once and a while...presumably due to vacations and holidays and it seems occations the person buys a packaged mean from a store). Above is a short description of the dish (the one pictured, according to the always amusing machine translation is "Bean ratio our 岐 crab cream croquette wind fly thick burning egg handmade brocade pine plum) and below is a small little bouncing head of various types to indicate the authors opinion of the meal. On the main page, near the bottom is a link to describe the various meaning of the heads, such as this one
which according to machine translation, means "It probably is on from average. It is tasty."

Yeah, still happy to be in the US

A good sized earthquake in Tokyo this evening (early Monday morning Tokyo time). A high 5 level on the J scale out in Chiba (40 or so miles east of Tokyo). Narita international airport was closed temporarily to inspect the runways and then re opened. Just when I was starting to think it was time to make another trip.....

To paraphrase Bono, “The God I believe in isn't short of M19 SSM Rocket Launchers, Mister!”

Just an interesting intersection of something….Using the Xbox live feature (the Xbox Live service allows for multiplayer games to be played over the internet and also allows voice communication between players during the game) to talk up the merits of the Christianity. I’m sure neither camp (gamers and religious chauvinists) would have predicted this use for Xbox Live and Halo 2.

Witnessing using Halo 2
"The point is that almost everyone already has run out and played it, so we think this is an awesome opportunity to take something hugely popular in our culture and turn it into a way to share the most important message," states Palmer.

"What we need are people who approach their Christianity with the same passion and concentration as they do with video games. Will you plug in and take action today?"

He begins his article with the storyline - a hero trying to save humanity from aliens.

"Don’t you just hate it when a bunch of outer space freaks get together and decide it’s their mission to torch humanity?" Likening the "outer space freaks" to Satan, he states, "In fact, the Halo storyline is remarkably like a major theme of the Bible."

"God created people in a perfect world in a perfect relationship with Him, which made Satan and his angels very jealous. So since the beginning of time, they have been on a mission to destroy all humans. Here’s what Jesus said."

"A thief (Satan) is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. (John 10:10)"

Here, the article goes into detail on Jesus as the hero in the Bible, analogous to the hero of Halo 2.

"Jesus came to this planet to save the planet from a group much worse than the Covenant (the aliens) and from a fate much worse than physical death."
